Silver Thomas Hanley is excited to share the Lyell McEwin Hospital Redevelopment, delivered in collaboration with Cheesman Architects. Silver Thomas Hanley undertook the Health Planning and User Group Consultation for development of internal layouts, working closely with the Cheesman interior design team who were responsible for all interior design.
Lyell McEwin Hospital has undergone an expansion and revitalisation of the emergency department, as well as an 8-bed Mental Health Short Stay Unit. The redevelopment, almost double the initial capacity of the ED, is critical to meeting the increased demand of the growing local population. The MHSS unit will ensure patients have access to specialised care by staff 24/7 following admission to the ED.
Thanks to Hansen Yuncken for sharing drone footage of construction progress.
